A whole month full of surprises

On 02.12. the mayor of “Primorski” area Mrs. Petya Prodanova gave the Association a Christmas tree as part of the initiative “Let’s decorate, plant and grow together a pine-tree”. After the holidays the tree was planted in the yard of “Gavroche”.

At the start of December the children from the Shelter and the Center for work with children in the street Centre for work with street children took part in the festive tree decoration on ‘Independence” square. The event was organized by the National association of Bulgarian orphans which also provided gifts for every small participant. The children left the event with their own decorated Christmas trees.

n 14.12. 30 children and young people who use the services of the “Gavroche” Association” attended for free the Christmas performance of “The Christmas tree” of the “Stoyan Bachvarov” Drama theatre. The visit took place owing to a donation on behalf of Mrs. Dobrinka Miteva.

In December four groups of students from the specialties “Social affairs” and “Nurses” at the University of medicine in Varna were accepted to do their internship in “Gavroche”. For years the Association has served as a working headquarters and resource center for the higher-education institutions in the city and provides an opportunity for training, practice and internship for students, as well as for support in making out course and diploma projects.

Just before Christmas and New Year in the shelter and CWCS we accepted a lot of donation and sponsorship guests. On 24.12. Mrs Tanya Book – member of the managing board of the “Gavroche” Association gave a gift to every child, as well as toys and a sweet.

On 25. 12. Sergey Stoynov and Zornitsa Doncheva made the children happy by visiting the shelter disguised as the Jolly old man and his assistant Snow-white. On 27.12 the children again met the two of them as part of the initiative of the “Rush hour” club and “Party” EOOD. They were given gifts also by their peers from the “Stoyan Mihaylovski” secondary school in Varna.
