Evaluation of NGO-activities in the social sphere

Project duration: June 2015 - March 2016

The Project aims to:
 - enhance the organizational and financial stability of the NGO by focusing on the assessment of the impact its activities has on the entire community;
- establish and promote a self-regulatory mechanism of the NGO activities, based on an opinion poll, demonstrating the benefits the organization has achieved for the community.

Who is the Project targeted at?

3 pilot NGOs working in the social sphere who are to approbate a Methodology for measuring public opinion on the impact their activities have on community;
30 Bulgarian NGOs who will be trained to implement "Principles and procedures for the inclusion of target groups, citizens and institutions in Impact Assessment";
234 community representatives who will have the opportunity to participate in focus groups, interviews and surveys.
The main activities include:
- developing a Methodology for inclusion of target groups, citizens and institutions in the assessment of the impact the NGO has through its activities;
- approbation of the Methodology by 3 pilot NGOs;
 - analysis of data from the pilot stage and development of "Principles and procedures for the inclusion of target groups, citizens and institutions in Impact Assessment";
- training of representatives from 30 NGOs in the knowledge and skills to probe, analyze and summarize the opinion of the communities, in which the NGO works, on the benefits and positive changes of its activities;
- holding a National conference to report the project's results.
Results:
- A methodological tool for research has been created on the impact of NGO activities;
- Representatives of 33 NGOs have been trained and have improved their competence on assessment of the impact of their work and can now regulate their activities in accordance with the needs of the community;
- A survey tool for measuring public opinion has been promoted on the impact of NGOs activities in the social sphere.

Reports have been written on the evaluation of the impact of the pilot NGOs activities.

The Project is realized with the financial help of the Program for support of non-governmental organizations in Bulgaria by the Financial mechanism of the European Economic Space (2009-2014)
