Project: Developing Gavroche Home, Varna as a model for prevention, support and a chance in life for street children
Grand Purpose: Contributing to the social integration, education and professional training of street children.
Objective 1 Creating a model for preventive work with children under threat to be left homeless, without care and families. Diminishing the risk of prostitution, substance and drug abuse among such children.
Objective 2 Stimulating NGO networking and collaboration, enhancing the understanding of the problem faced by street children.
Location: Varna and the region, Kamenar and Odessos quarters
Project results: Created a model for preventive work with street children and families; Supported children at Gavroche Home (shelter, healthcare, food, clothes, education, counselling, professional skills in gardening, sewing, woodcarving, handicrafts); Disseminated information and materials to interested NGOs, Ministries, local authorities.
