Centre for work with children on the street
The essence of the service is related to prevention of children from falling on the street and dropping-off of the educational system through individual work with the child and the family, realization of family consulting and support, education of the children and supporting them to form hygiene, personal, social and other skills.
CWCS is a social service in the community which is delivered in accordance with the individual needs of the specific child and of the members of his family for the period of one year.
The capacity of the CWCS is 20 children.
І. Objectives
1. Providing of safe and protected environment for the children;
2. Satisfying of the basic needs of the child and providing of conditions for normal development in accordance with the personal and physiological features.
3. Prevention of social isolation of the children and their families;
4. Prevention of anti-social behavior of the children on the street;
5. Prevention and protection of children on the street from violence, involvement in traffic and forms of exploitation and labor;
6. Activities for initial education of the children;
7. Improvement of the health-and-hygiene culture of the children;
8. Organization of the free time;
9. Direct work with the parents and the larger families for improvement of the relations and the links between the children and their parents;
10. Reintegration of the children from the street into family or closer to family environment.

1. Direct beneficiaries
- Children on the street and in risk to be there
- Children who are neglected
- Children for whom lack of sufficient care and parents’ control have been established
- Children who have dropped-off or who are in risk to drop-off of the educational system.

- Parents and families of children on the street, who are neglected, without sufficient parents’ skills and capacity for control and care for the children;

The children are transported from and to the center by the mini-bus of the Association.
3.1 . Satisfying of the basic needs of the accommodated children:
- Food – provided cooked meals /breakfast, lunch, afternoon breakfast and dinner/, delivered by a Canteen with “Students and canteen catering” Ltd;
- Health service – everyday the health status of the children is monitored by a nurse who registers the anthropogenic-metric indices, the symptoms for infectious and virus diseases, establishes contact with the GPs. Provided access to dentist care;
- Personal hygiene – the children are motivated to keep their decent appearance;
3.2.Organization of educational programs and carrying of sessions for prevention of violence and trainings for social skills (functional and civil becoming literate) – according the educational status and capacity, the children are included in courses for becoming literate and for support for their preparation for school.
With the children who have dropped-off permanently from the school system, we work for development of basic level of literacy covering the pre-school level of preparation.
With the children at the preschool age we work on the forming of habits, development of fine motorics and initial education for becoming literate at the level of preschool preparation. We support the parents for registering the children in school and for supporting the first year school boys and girls.
The children who visit the educational lessons are supported by school books, notebooks and tools and are encouraged not to leave school. Their success in school is monitored and they are supported during their preparation for the lessons.
