In May and June we organized three camps with children using the services of the Shelter and the Center for work with children in the street in the National center “Gavroche children” in the Elena Balkan mountain. Traditionally the children took part in familiarization walks in the forest, picked up wild fruit, flowers and herbs. Every day they enjoyed games in the open, had a masquerade and gathered at the barbecue in the evening.

There finished the project “Safe environment for children at risk in Varna”, financed by the OAK Foundation-Switzerland. More than 2000 people have been socially supported. More than 500 citizens have been accompanied to institutions for solving everyday issues. 120 children have been taught to read and write in pre-school sessions, the school work of more than 50 pupils in risk of dropping out from school has been supported, 40 young people aged over 16 have been helped to go back to school for completing their education. Since 24.03.2014 a charity exhibition of finger-made and oil paintings made by the children of “Gavroche” under the guidance of Mrs. Tania Konstantinova has been on display in Radio Varna. Everyone willing to support the activities of the Association can buy an item from the colorful works of the children.

On 13.03.2014 at 5 pm in the Art hall of the Varna Radio station the “Gavroche” Association marked its 20th jubilee. Among the guests of the official event were representatives of the Municipality of Varna, regional mayor’s offices, directors of directorships in the field of social support and protection of children, representatives of non-governmental organisations, of the Varna and Veliki Preslav Sacred Diocese, volunteers and pupils from schools in Varna. More than 300 gifts made Christmas a wonderful experience for the Gavroche children! In the campaign there took part pupils and parents from third-grade E in “G. S Rakovski” SS and the “Little prince” Private language school, Mr. Frank Ramsyoter from Germany, the “Andjeti” beauty parlor; Mrs. Tsvetanka Kovacheva, students and lecturers from TU-Varna, ADDRESS Real-estate agency AD, “Revolution of good”, “Rush hour”, citizens from Varna and the whole country. We thank everyone who made Christmas so magic!

From 1.12. there started the Christmas-and-New-year campaign of the “Gavroche” Association aimed at providing gifts for the children and young people with whom we work.
