The children in the Shelter were involved in fitness sessions organized by Tsvetomila Vasileva as part of the “Week of movement”.

Since June in “Gavroche” we have been accepting volunteers from the British organization “Original volunteers” who fill the days in the Shelter and CWCS with joy, games, drawing pictures and plasticine modelling. Together with the children the first groups of young volunteers made wonderful bracelets and necklaces of beads and macaroni.

In May and June we organized three camps with children using the services of the Shelter and the Center for work with children in the street in the National center “Gavroche children” in the Elena Balkan mountain. Traditionally the children took part in familiarization walks in the forest, picked up wild fruit, flowers and herbs. Every day they enjoyed games in the open, had a masquerade and gathered at the barbecue in the evening.

There finished the project “Safe environment for children at risk in Varna”, financed by the OAK Foundation-Switzerland. More than 2000 people have been socially supported. More than 500 citizens have been accompanied to institutions for solving everyday issues. 120 children have been taught to read and write in pre-school sessions, the school work of more than 50 pupils in risk of dropping out from school has been supported, 40 young people aged over 16 have been helped to go back to school for completing their education. Since 24.03.2014 a charity exhibition of finger-made and oil paintings made by the children of “Gavroche” under the guidance of Mrs. Tania Konstantinova has been on display in Radio Varna. Everyone willing to support the activities of the Association can buy an item from the colorful works of the children.
